Tissu Project — Fine Art

Tissu Project by Sonia Delaunay shows repeated curved bands that cross over one another on a light ground. The eye moves along the arcs and rests where the bands overlap. Empty space sits between the painted forms. The work comes from the practice of Orphism and simultaneism colour study.

This fine art print uses a white frame that gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The frame finish stays separate from the painted bands so the picture reads clearly from a distance. The paper holds the flat colour planes without shine.

Hang this on a kitchen wall near the sink. From the table you see the broad curves first, then the small overlaps. The white frame keeps the picture set apart from the tiles and cabinets.
