About this work
Tour III - 1972 by Brice Marden shows a calm field shaped by long drawn lines set apart from one another. The eye enters near the top edge and pauses where the spacing opens up. Empty space holds the weight. The title sits quietly at the side of the sheet.
The fine art print uses a light frame finish that picks up the soft paper tone and lets the drawn lines stay visible without glare. You can set the frame on a pale wall so the dark pencil tone reads plainly against the wall.
In a study corner the drawing rests above a desk near a side lamp. From the chair you notice the steady pacing of the marks before you see the small graphite shifts.
