About this work
Tree by Arthur Dove (1935)
A solitary tree rises in this artwork by Arthur Dove. The painting, titled 'Tree', captures the essence of nature through Dove's unique lens, offering a glimpse into his modernist interpretation of the natural world.
The composition is a symphony of organic forms and muted colors. Dove employs a palette of soft greens, earthy browns, and subtle blues, creating a harmonious blend that reflects the tranquility of nature. The tree, though abstracted, is unmistakable, its branches reaching out in a rhythmic dance across the canvas. The background, a blend of warm ochres and cool grays, provides a serene backdrop that allows the tree to command attention.
This poster brings a sense of calm and natural beauty to any space, making it an ideal addition to a study or living room.
