About this work
Tteia number seven builds a web of thin painted lines across the sheet. The lines run in many directions and meet at sharp angles. Some passages are tighter, some spread out.
The picture uses a plain ground so each crossing stays clear. The work comes from the geometric abstraction of Lygia Pape and the Brazilian concrete art movement. You get a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The paper is matte, so the painted lines stay even and do not catch the light.
The frame sits flat on the wall and the back panel keeps the surface steady. On a bedroom wall the lines pull the eye around the room. From the far corner the crossings read as a simple pattern. Closer by, the small joins between strokes become the main detail.
