Turkish sundial column

A column shape carries the hour lines of a sundial in the picture titled Turkish sundial column - 1967. Ben Nicholson painted the lines in thin black strokes over a flat surface. The column stands upright with the shadow marks running down its length.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The flat surface keeps the black lines sharp against the plain field.

It fits a narrow wall in a study above a desk. From the reading chair you see the column cut across the wall and the shadow lines line up with the shelf below.
