Twin Sun-Box — Fine Art

Twin Sun-Box - 1965 holds two dark rounded forms set against a pale ground. The shapes sit near the center and leave the edges open. A cool blue tone runs along the lower edge and meets the warm grey above it. The contrast keeps the eye moving between the two forms.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The paper is matte, so the dark shapes stay flat and the pale areas do not shine under a lamp. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the two shapes sit without competing with the plaster.

A stairwell wall above the first step holds it at shoulder height. From the landing the two shapes read as two quiet blocks, while the pale ground stays soft. Down on the steps you notice the blue line at the bottom edge.
