Untitled 14 - 1960 by John Altoon leaves open space around the marks. The drawing holds a few quick lines and a patch of darker tone near the centre. The rest of the sheet stays clear so the eye rests there first.

This fine art print keeps the soft paper tone that the original used for its washes. You can order it with a white, wood, dark wood or black frame. That clear edge sets the drawing apart from the plaster behind it.

A narrow landing strip above the stairs gives the piece a steady spot. From the bottom steps you notice the darker patch and the open white field before you reach the top.
