About this work
Untitled 1944 by Jackson Pollock puts down thin lines and small spots over a pale ground. The marks move in loose runs and stop without a plan. You can follow the paint where it shifts direction. The work belongs to the abstract expressionist movement of the mid twentieth century. Jackson Pollock used poured and dripped paint in his studio practice.
This fine art print comes set in a frame with a back panel. The paper keeps the lighter tones soft, so the paint runs stay flat under a lamp. The frame and back panel give the sheet a clean edge to sit against.
On a bedroom wall near the bed, the thin lines settle into the background. From the foot of the bed you see the pale field and the small runs of paint.
