Untitled - 1950 by Anne Ryan shows a patchwork of sewn paper pieces set on a worked surface. The artist uses torn paper and stitched cloth in this collage work. Soft tones and layered edges build the picture without a single painted field.

The fine art print keeps the matte finish so the paper grain stays readable. On a pale wall a dark frame can match the darker sewn pieces, and the light hits the surface without a shine.

In a reading corner the print hangs on the side wall near the desk. From the chair you see the stitched edges first, then the torn paper layers as you turn the page.
