About this work
Untitled - 1970 shows a measured grid of pencil lines crossing a pale ground. The marks stay thin and even. Nasreen Mohamedi drew in quiet journals and on paper, setting lines against empty space. The picture follows that practice of careful drawing and restraint.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The paper is matte, so the grey pencil marks stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the grid read clearly. The matte surface holds the fine drawn lines without pulling focus.
On a hallway wall beside a tall mirror you notice the even spacing of the lines. The pale ground stays calm, and the drawing keeps its quiet rhythm through the day.
