About this work
Thick black lines form a busy crowd of figures inside Untitled 1981. Short standing bodies and dogs fill the page with quick marks. Keith Haring drew the group in a public mural style, using the same bold outline method he used for street drawings. The figures overlap and face different directions.
This fine art print sits behind a clean frame edge that holds the busy drawing in place. A white frame keeps the black lines sharp and stops the page from fading into the wall. A wood finish warms the grey paper and softens the hard outlines.
Above a kitchen sink, the short figures line up with the counter top. From the table you see the quick outlines first, and the overlapping bodies fill the view. The frame edge keeps the page clear when you wash plates nearby.
