About this work
Untitled - 1981 shows thin pencilled lines drawn through small holes in the paper. The lines cross and stop, leaving a web of faint tracks on a pale surface. Mira Schendel worked with handmade paper and simple tools, letting the paper guide the marks.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The matte paper holds the pencil marks without shine. A light frame lets the pale ground stay open and the darker tracks stay separate. The finish follows the room you choose.
It fits a narrow strip of wall in a reading corner. From the chair you see the crossings of line, and the paper edge stays soft in the lamp light.
