About this work
Untitled 1995 5 keeps the eye on a single shape set against a plain ground. The drawing comes from Louise Bourgeois, whose work often turns to body parts and repeating forms. You notice the outline first, then the small shifts in tone as you move nearer.
The object is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. A matte surface keeps the tones even and stops glare from a lamp. The frame gives the image a clean edge and holds it flat on the wall. You can hang it without extra work.
In a bedroom corner by the bed, the shape reads as a quiet figure at night. From the doorway the plain field settles the eye, and the small tone shifts show near the pillow. The room keeps its rest.
