Untitled 2007 by Luis Feito holds a quiet field of muted tones with a few painted marks placed off to one side. The small shapes sit near the edge and leave most of the ground open. The eye rests on the empty area first, then drifts toward the marks.

The fine art print uses matte paper that keeps the soft paint tones from shining. A light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall can follow the room. You see the painted strokes more clearly under steady light.

On a bedroom wall above a low dresser, the broad open field lets the room feel uncluttered. From the foot of the bed you notice the dark marks first, then the pale ground around them.
