About this work
Untitled Diagonal Curve 1966 by Bridget Riley turns a flat sheet into a band of bent lines that shift direction without breaking.
The strokes follow a steady diagonal across the page, and the lengths change as the line curves. At a distance the movement reads as a single sweep, while closer you see each mark step beside the next.
The fine art print uses a light frame on a pale wall so the black lines hold their own against the room. A hallway at the bend in the stairs shows the curve pulling past the corner.
