About this work
Untitled From the series Graphic Objects - 1973 shows faint lines and soft marks on a pale ground. The marks stay close together and leave open space around them.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Mira Schendel often worked with faint pressure and light tones, so the whole image feels quiet and restrained. The paper is matte, so the pale tones stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp.
The white frame gives the picture a clear edge and keeps the pale ground from fading at the wall. It works well on a narrow hallway wall near the front door. From there the small marks stay soft, and the pale ground stays calm.
