Untitled — Fine Art

Brush and ink marks move across the sheet in a loose pattern. Wu Guanzhong sets down thin washes that sit on the paper. The title Untitled - Impressionism, Ink and wash painting points to a quiet study of line and tone. The paint settles in small pools here and fades out there.

The fine art matte surface keeps the grey washes soft instead of sharp. Light from a lamp sits on the sheet without a shine. You see the ink strokes as they were made, with no glare to flatten them.

On a dark painted panel in a study, the pale field reads plain. From the desk you notice the thin runs of ink and the small areas of wash. The frame matches the wood of the desk.
