Untitled with Green

Untitled with Green - 1989 by Brice Marden holds a calm field with a green tone set against a muted ground. The paint sits in broad layers, and the surface shows the steady hand of the wax and pigment practice the artist used for measured abstract paintings.

This fine art print comes on matte paper so the green stays soft and the light does not glare from the surface. The paper takes the tone without adding shine, and the image reads the same in a room with steady light.

It works on a dining room wall beside a plain table. From the doorway you notice the green band first, then the quiet field behind it. Standing a step closer you see the layer of paint and the even tone of the print.
