Variant Adobe — Fine Art

Variant Adobe sets a broad block of colour against a softer ground. The name points to a brick tone, but the balance shifts with the room. Josef Albers tested how one hue changes next to another. The fine art print keeps those tones in clear layers.

The surface carries no shine, so the mid tones stay steady under indoor light. A dark frame pulls the lighter edge forward on a pale wall. A lighter frame lets the deep band rest on a darker surface.

On a kitchen wall near the sink the big shape reads from the table. The eye moves from the warm block to the cooler band and back again.
