Walter Anderson by Walter Anderson, Fine Art — Fine Art

Walter Anderson shows a bird or plant shape outlined against a soft painted ground. The artist uses clear lines and flat colour, a method he kept through his work on the Gulf coast. The picture stays close to the natural forms he drew most often.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a flat back panel. The matte surface holds the painted outlines without shine, so the line work reads the same from a doorway or a chair. You can set it on a wall and it stays put.

In a narrow hallway, the outline stands out against the paint on the wall. From the far end you see the whole shape, and from the bend in the hall you notice the small marks at the edge.
