About this work
Water moves through a long straight line in Where the Water Goes. The picture splits the sheet into separate colour fields. James Rosenquist used commercial pictures and cut them into broad sections. The marks sit broad and flat, with hard lines between the tones.
The fine art frame in white wood dark wood or black gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. The frame edge sits against the flat colour blocks without drawing the eye away from the water line. The white finish keeps the pale fields soft.
Hang it above a low table near a window. The daylight softens the flat colour fields and makes the hard lines between them easier to read. From the doorway you see the long water line first.
