About this work
A white line crosses over a busy ground of coloured forms. White Line 1936 sets the line against the marks Wassily Kandinsky used in his abstract composition studies. The line stays thin and plain while the shapes turn and lean behind it.
The frame for this fine art print comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white frame keeps the line open and separate from the busy ground. A dark wood frame gives the edge a firm stop.
In a narrow hallway the white line shows first before the shapes come into view. The light from the far lamp falls on the line and the coloured marks stay lower. You stand a few paces from the wall and the line reads clean before the rest of the sheet.
