Winter Figure with Black Overhead, 1959

A black mark hangs over a softer field in Winter Figure with Black Overhead, 1959-. Helen Frankenthaler lets paint soak into the sheet, leaving open edges and thin stains.

The shape sits above a quiet ground, and the work stays loose where the colour meets the paper. The fine art print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fixed to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.

You do not need a separate frame. From a doorway the black band reads first, and up close the soaked edges show how the paint settled.

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
