Worm Dreaming — Fine Art

Worm Dreaming - 1996 shows a long track moving across the sheet in earth tones with dot work along the path. The painted line bends and returns, and the small dots spread out from it in the Western Desert painting style. Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri worked in this way, and you can see the repeated dots and joined marks here.

The fine art frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame keeps the pale earth tones open and lets the dark dots stand out without pulling the eye away from the line.

In a hallway the painted track leads the eye along the passage at a normal walking pace. The dots read as small breaks in the path when you stand near the frame, and the wider line holds the longer view.
