About this work
Yellow Bouquet 1917 fills the frame with a bunch of flowers in warm yellow tones against a dark ground. Theo van Rysselberghe used small dots and short strokes to build the petals and leaves, a method tied to his neo impressionist practice. The bunch sits plainly in the centre with no extra detail around it.
This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel and arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is chosen. The matte paper keeps the yellow blooms soft and stops a glare from a lamp on the dots.
It fits a dining room wall above the sideboard. From the doorway you notice the warm yellow against the dark ground, and at the table you see the small paint marks in the petals.
