Blinky Palermo made Tablettenbild 1966 as a painted panel study in his geometric abstract practice.

The work uses solid blocks of colour laid out in a clear arrangement, with hard edges between each section. From across the room the blocks read as simple shapes, and as you step nearer the painted edges show a slight hand drawn line.

This fine art print on matte paper keeps those flat colour sections even under a lamp, and the frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale wall. It fits above a dining table where you notice the colour blocks first and the small edge marks later.
