About this work
Sans titre Paris, rue Gît le Cœur - 1962 shows a street view built from broad strokes and a few layered shapes.
The eye enters on the left and rests lower on the darker passages, while a large open area keeps the right side quiet. Bram van Velde worked in an abstract style with loose paint handling, and this fine art print keeps that broad handling clear.
The sheet is set in a frame with a back panel, so the open field reads without glare. It fits well above the desk in a study, where the seated viewer notices the soft paint edges first and the plain space later.
