Untitled - 1961 by Charlotte Posenenske places a repeating shape across the sheet. The marks move in one direction with even spacing between them. Open areas sit beside the repeated forms. The eye follows the line from one end to the other.

The fine art print keeps the grey tone steady on a matte sheet, so the repeated forms do not shine under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets each shape stand apart from the background.

It works on a hallway wall above a narrow console. From the far end of the passage you see the row of shapes, closer you notice the flat tone of each one. Charlotte Posenenske built much of her practice on serial forms and this fine art print follows that line.
