Untitled Striped Surface — Fine Art

Untitled Striped Surface - 1961 shows parallel stripes stacked across the sheet. The lines run close together and leave a narrow strip of bare paper between them. The paint sits level so each band reads as a flat block of tone against the next one.

This is a fine art print set in one of four frame finishes. A white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. A black frame makes the stripes feel sharper at the edge. A wood or dark wood frame softens the hard lines at the border.

It works on a hallway wall where the light falls flat. From the landing you see the ordered rows. Standing near the picture you notice the even gaps between the bands.
