About this work

Cathedral

Two dark blocks meet a warm orange field in Cathedral. The orange side stays flat while the grey side fractures into small squares and lines. Hans Hofmann built this picture from colour planes set close together. The contrast keeps the surface restless.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface holds the orange without shine and lets the grey marks stay separate. You see each stroke as it was made.

It hangs on a kitchen wall above a wooden table. Morning light from the window warms the orange side. The grey side stays cool in the shadow of the shelf.

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.
Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
