Chinese Wall L. L101; SF-87 by Sam Francis puts a wide open space in front of you. A pale ground holds a few broad colour sweeps. The shapes spread out and leave gaps between them.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The white finish gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. That edge keeps the colour field from fading into the plaster. The same clean line meets the soft wash marks near the centre.

On a long hallway wall the broad sweeps read from the far end. Up close the pale ground and the open gaps show the paper surface. You notice the hard edge marks against the white frame.
