End Stripes

End Stripes - 1960 uses colour bands stacked across the sheet. The stripes step through warm and cool hues next to each other. You see the change from one band to the next as you read along the sheet. Gene Davis painted in this band style as part of the colour field painting period.

The fine art print has a metal hanger fitted to the back. It goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need a separate frame. The hanger holds the sheet flat against the wall without any extra fitting.

It works above a desk in a study where the stripes turn with the light. From the doorway you notice the colour steps first. At the desk the bands line up with the edge of the board.
