Ferris Wheel

Ferris Wheel - 1963 shows a circle of painted bands set on a flat ground. Gene Davis built the ring with steady colour stripes of different lengths. The painted marks step round the centre and leave small gaps between them.

The print is on matte paper, so the painted bands stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp. The fine art frame finish can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture.

In a kitchen, the ring of stripes sits on the wall by the sink. From the table you see the painted bands and the changing colours. The opening of the ring points toward the window.
