King Kong — Fine Art

King Kong - 1969 by Gene Davis uses painted colour bands that step across the sheet in one steady direction. Thin stripes hold warm and cool tones next to each other, and each band shifts in width from top to bottom.

This fine art print keeps the flat tone of the original work, so the stripes read as clean edges without glare. A light frame on a dark wall pulls the lighter bands forward, and a dark frame on a pale wall lets the deeper bands hold the line.

On a hallway wall near the turn, the bands lead the eye along the passage. From the stair you catch the long run of stripes, and from the landing you notice where one band grows wider than the next.
