Mushrooms 1995 — Fine Art

Mushrooms 1995 by Yayoi Kusama shows two rounded mushroom forms standing on a clear ground. The shapes carry soft dots across their caps and stalks, and the paint sits in flat colour fields with no hard outline. The drawing keeps the forms simple and steady.

This image arrives as a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper holds the dot colour without shine, so the red cap and the pale stalk stay separate under a lamp. The frame sits flat against the wall.

I would hang the picture at the end of a stairwell where the rail runs along one side. From the landing you catch the two caps and the dots while walking past. The steady shapes make the steps feel slower.
