Offshore Island — Fine Art

Offshore Island - 1958 uses soft washes of watercolour held by a few steady lines. The brush moves slowly over the paper, leaving flat colour that settles into the shape of the island. Milton Avery builds the scene from quiet colour blocks rather than detail.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The print hangs on a bedroom wall near the ceiling, where the cool blue tones sit above the bed. From the doorway you notice the horizontal band of sea before the darker island shape.
