Renate s Nantucket — Fine Art

Renate s Nantucket by Hans Hofmann shows a field of pushed colour with quick brush marks that move across the picture. The paint sits in broad planes, with some edges sharp and others soft where the brush turned.

The frame finish can follow the room: a light frame on a dark wall, a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. The fine art paper keeps the paint tones even and the brush lines stay clear under normal room light.

It works on a narrow hallway wall where the door stays closed most of the day. From the far end you see the colour bands first, and as you walk past you notice the small changes where one brush stroke meets the next.
