Summer Night s Bliss — Fine Art

Summer Nights Bliss by Hans Hofmann uses broad painted areas that drift across the sheet. A cool blue tone meets a warmer reddish band, with lines cutting through the colour. The work belongs to post war abstraction and uses the push and pull method to make one area seem to advance while another recedes.

You get a fine art print with a metal hanger fitted to the back. It goes straight onto a nail or screw, so you do not need to buy a frame. The matte paper keeps the painted tones soft and stops a shine when a lamp is on nearby.

It works above the kitchen table. From the doorway you see the broad blue and red areas, and when you stand closer you notice the small cuts between them.
