Untitled

The painting Untitled - 1959 by Gene Davis shows colour bands running in one direction across the sheet. The painted stripes hold one steady hue each. The marks stay even from edge to edge.

The fine art print uses a matte sheet with no gloss. A white frame sits tight around the image, so the hard edges of each band meet a clean border.

In a dining room on a pale wall, the bands keep their shape at a distance. Closer, the printed layers show their flat tone. The black frame line stays sharp.
