Untitled 7313 - 1973 works as a network of thin wire lines that cross and loop across the sheet. The marks stay close to one another, so the whole picture reads as a single woven field first, then as separate strands when you move nearer. Gego built this kind of line work from metal and thread in her studio practice.

The fine art frame gives the image a clear boundary on the wall. A black frame finish keeps the line work sharp at the edge, while the matte paper holds the greys without a shine under a lamp.

It works well in a study above a desk. From the chair you see the dense line field as one shape, and from the desk you notice each crossing of wire.
