Komposition — Fine Art

Komposition - 1959 shows a few dark lines and shapes on a pale sheet. The brush goes over the paper with a light hand. The marks stay separate and leave open space around them. Julius Bissier often worked this way, letting the paint do the work.

The fine art print uses matte paper, so the greys stay soft and the surface stays dull. A white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall and sets the sheet off from the paint.

It works on a bedroom wall near the bed. The flat shapes read from the doorway, and the pencil marks show when you stand by the pane.
