Untitled — Fine Art

Untitled - Color Field Painting by Helen Frankenthaler holds a wide field of thin wash. The paint soaks through the sheet and leaves soft bands of blue and orange against a quiet ground. The marks are broad and open, with no hard outline.

The fine art frame is finished in white, wood, dark wood or black. That clear edge sits steady against the soft colour field and keeps the picture set on the wall without competing with the wash.

It works on a bedroom wall near a reading chair. From the bed you see the big colour shapes, and the frame finish holds the eye on the open field before it drifts to the floor.
