Violet

A dark violet ground holds several sharp colour blocks and quick marks. Violet - 1997 keeps the eye moving from one block to the next, with empty space between them. Michel Majerus often placed bold shapes over a single tone, and this image follows that way of working.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger already fitted to the back. It goes straight onto a nail without needing a frame. The solid violet field stays even, and the added blocks read clearly against it.
