Untitled Lips with Turquoise

A red mouth shape sits on a teal ground in Untitled Lips with Turquoise - 1984. The paint sits in a flat layer with a dark outline around the lips. Paul Thek worked with paint and bodily forms in a quiet way. The turquoise field holds the red shape without a hard border.

A fine art print on matte paper keeps the tones even when the light hits the sheet. The frame can follow the wall colour you choose. A light frame sits on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. The surface stays flat under a lamp.

It hangs on the kitchen wall above the sink. You see the red shape when you wash dishes. The teal ground reads cool against the pale tiles. The room stays calm in the morning light.
