About this work
The triangle form develops through repeated lines in Desarrollo del triángulo - 1951. Tomas Maldonado draws the shape with careful pencil pressure, so the lines sit at different weights. Some strokes cross and stop short. The marks read as a study of how one geometric figure changes when it is drawn again and again.
This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need a separate frame. The matte paper holds the pencil tones without shine, so the lighter lines stay visible under a lamp.
In a study, the print goes on the wall beside a desk drawer. From the chair you see the triangle form across the top. Leaning forward, you notice the crossings where one line ends and another begins.
