About this work
Improvisation 6 African 1909 shows a spread of drifting lines and small colour patches over a muted field. The marks read like quick notes placed without a fixed plan. Wassily Kandinsky worked in the early abstract movement, where colour and line carry the idea instead of a scene.
The fine art sheet sits on a wall with enough open space around it so the marks can settle. A light frame on a dark wall lets the soft tones stay clear without glare.
It fits near the top of a narrow hallway wall, where you pass by and notice the loose lines from a distance.
