About this work
A Centre 1924 keeps the eye moving in a few directions at once. A cluster of small coloured patches and thin line marks sits near the middle. The lines cross and stop. Wassily Kandinsky painted these marks with quick hand pressure.
This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The paper is matte, so the smaller colour patches do not shine under a lamp. A light frame reads well on a dark wall. A dark frame fits a pale wall. A wood frame sits beside wooden furniture. The frame finish follows the room.
Hang it on a narrow hallway wall, halfway up, where the light comes from one side. From the hall you see the patch shapes first. Up close you notice the uneven ends of the lines. The picture stays with you as you walk past it.
