A Mountain Stream, Tyrol by John Singer Sargent

A Mountain Stream, Tyrol shows water running down a narrow channel between rocky banks. The water moves in quick strokes that suggest speed and cold. Little ferns grow on the damp stone beside the stream. This fine art print keeps those pale greens and greys clear on the matte surface.

The white frame gives the river edge a clean line so the water does not wander off the sheet. The frame also keeps the cool tones from sinking into a busy wall.

Place it in a bathroom above the sink. From the doorway you read the blue-white water first, then the darker rocks near the bottom corner.
