Abstract 1957 — Fine Art

Abstract 1957 opens with a few dark shapes in the lower left and leaves most of the surface clear. The empty area sits at the top and the marks gather near the bottom edge. Taro Yamamoto made this kind of work with simple graphic shapes and a plain ground. The fine art version uses a matte surface so the flat colours stay soft under a lamp.

The light or dark frame can follow the room you choose. A wood frame beside wooden furniture ties the shapes to the room without drawing attention away from the image.

It fits above the kitchen counter where you see the empty area first from the doorway and the dark shapes near the end of the counter when you pass behind.
