Abstract Painting

Abstract Painting - 1963 by Ad Reinhardt shows a dark square divided into four equal sections. Each section holds a narrow band of tone, one lighter than the next. The field stays almost full, with only a thin margin left open around the edge.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a separate frame. The matte surface keeps the small shifts in the dark bands easy to read without shine.

It fits a hallway wall where the light is steady and even. From the end of the hall you take in the full square. Stand a little closer and the narrow bands separate into clear steps of tone.
